Can staff book a family into a time they can't book themselves?
Usually, yes. When staff make a booking on a family's behalf, most of the rules that stop families booking are shown as warnings instead, so staff can book past them on purpose. These are:
- Breaks: the time is shown with a break icon, but can still be booked.
- Booking limits: the family has already used their booking limit.
- Booking buffer: the time is too close to another of the family's bookings with a different teacher (see booking buffer).
- Dates a teacher isn't working: the teacher's available dates for the event don't include that day.
- The event has closed: bookings are no longer open to families.
Two things can't be booked past by anyone:
- A full time slot: the teacher already has as many bookings at that time as the event allows. Cancel or move one of them first.
- A time the family is already booked: a family can only have one booking at a time. Cancel their other booking at that time first.
To make a booking for a family, click on Bookings in the main menu, choose the event, and use New Booking.
